‘Montenegro looks forward to take part in anti-IS coalition meeting’
VIENNA, Feb 10, (KUNA): Montenegro is looking forward to participate in the ministerial meeting for Anti-IS Coalition next Tuesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Srdjan Darmanovic said Saturday.
His remark to KUNA came during his reception of Youssef Abdulsamad, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Serbia and nonresident ambassador to Montenegro, in the capital Podgorica.
Montenegro holds high the State of Kuwait’s major and positive role in preserving regional stability and efforts in fighting international terrorism, Darmanovic was quoted by Abdulsamad as saying.
He also expressed anticipation to meet Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and other senior officials on the sideline of meeting to discuss bilateral relations on all levels, especially economic ones.
Since its independence in 2006, the Balkan country with rugged mountains has been seeking membership in the European Union, as well as developing its friendly relations with all countries, including Kuwait.
The Anti-IS Coalition meeting is part of the overall Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq, which is due to take place from Feb 12 to 14, with the participation of a number of contributing countries, international and regional organizations.
It will be chaired by five parties; Kuwait, Iraq, the European Union, the United Nations and the World Bank.
