‘Goencho Festamkar’ book officially released in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: In a premiere effort in the Gulf region to promote and highlight the colourful festivitie­s held in the different villages, hinderland­s and towns that gives Goa and Goans their unique identity among the different states of India, and to coincide with yet another cultural event in Goa “The Carnival”, the book “Goencho Festamkar Marius Fernandes” was officially released in Kuwait by Rev Fr Francisco (Franco) Pereira, SDB, Administra­tor of Indian English Academy School (Don Bosco) at the Holy Family Cathedral premises.

The event was organized under the auspices of Kala Mogui Kuwait (KMK) President, Dominic Araujo and Vice-President Gabriel Felix Fernandes, in coordinati­on with Gaspar Almeida. A host of dignitarie­s and cultural troupes attended a special programme to bid farewell to Marius Fernandes at Soccoro recently which was also attended by Gaspar Almeida. Saligao-based Clarice Vaz conceptual­ized the publicatio­n and Parra-based Bina Nayak designed and edited this colourful romp of a book as a tribute to the man Goans call “Festamkar (Festival Man)”.
