Citizens appeal to Iraq:
News in Brief
Many Kuwaiti citizens have raised an appeal to Iraqi authorities to facilitate registration procedures for their lands and real estate properties in Iraq, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In the appeal, they explained that they own real estates and lands in Iraq and they were allowed to act on their properties after the withdrawal of the decision to seize Kuwaitis’ real estate properties in 1993. Though they have applied for the return of their lands and properties, many are still leased by the state while others have been usurped by Iraqi people. KICRI vital says Anne-Mari: Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Anne-Mari Virolainen has stressed the importance of Kuwait International Conference for Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI), reports Al-Rai daily.
This is the Finnish minister’s first mission after assuming the post.
Speaking to the daily, Virolainen disclosed this is her third visit to Kuwait which, she pointed out, plays a crucial role in regional and international arenas. She said Kuwait is the symbol of wisdom and stability.
She affirmed that work is underway to strengthen relations between Finland and Kuwait.
She added her country has no intention to open an embassy in Kuwait as the Finnish community here is small and there is a nearby embassy in Riyadh — the capital of Saudi Arabia.
