Pavendar Kazhagam organises Pongal Vizha
Pavendar Kazhagam-Kuwait organised its Kalam-62 as a special program “Pongal” (Tamil Harvest Festival) and “Traditional Food Competition” recently at Pavendar Arangam Mangaf, Kuwait. The program was anchored by Er Rakeshwari and Kavi Sivamani. The function commenced with Tamil anthem by Mrs Manjula, Mrs Priya Kannan, Mrs Rajadevi and Mrs Rakeshwari. The program was presided over by Sundaresan (chief chef, Hotel Saravanabavan, Kuwait) in the presence of K. Natarajan (President) and Vasu Ramanathan (General Secretary).
Padmanathan (Treasurer) welcomed the guests and participants. The program started with PVK “Kalapaadal” sung by Mrs Manjula Duraisamy, “Thirukkural” enlightened by Mrs Priya Kannan (Ex-P.R.S), “Mannisai” by Mrs Manjula Duraisamy, Murugesan and Gangesh. The Pongal Vizaha was celebrated by our women wing Mrs Priya Kannan, Mrs Amuthavalli Manoharan and Mrs Rajadevi Sattanathan.
The traditional food competition started by the chief guest Sundaresan and all the participants were presented variety of tradition food treats. The competition was well arranged and coordinated by Mrs Rajadevi Sattanathan (Public Relation and Media Secretary).
Dr Suthanthiradevi appreciated the participants and delivered wonderful speech about the importance of our traditional food.
The winners of the competition was announced by Mrs Rajadevi Sattanathan who is the coordinator of the program. The 1st prize (LED TV) won by Mrs. Ramaprabha, sponsored by Abubacker Siddiqui (Supreme Cargo and Travels), 2nd prize (TAB) won by Mrs Parveen, sponsored by Moh’d Gows (Velldon Real Promoters) and 3rd prize (Android Mobile) won by Mrs Kavipriya, sponsored by Sreenivan (Bollywood Restaurant). Consolation prizes were given to all the participants attended the competition to encourage them, sponsored by our well-wishers.
