MoE rejects contract changes:

Assistant Undersecre­tary for Financial Affairs at Ministry of Education (MoE) Dr Yousef Al-Najjar has rejected the proposal to amend the provisions in the contracts that the ministry had signed with cleaning companies in order to enable schools to hire workers from outside to fill the shortages in schools especially in girls’ schools, reports Al-Rai daily.

Dr Al-Najjar said, “It is impossible to add such a provision in the contracts. We will not allow outside workers, as we are not only able to guarantee their work quality but we also do not know

Boy biker hurt in mishap:

A 12-year-old Kuwaiti boy sustained serious injuries when a heavy vehicle collided with the motorbike he was riding in Umm Naqqa area, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the accident, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location. The boy was taken to Jahra Hospital via an air ambulance and he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.

Meanwhile, securityme­n arrested the Pakistani driver of the heavy vehicle and referred him to Qashaniya Police Station. He revealed that he was driving down a road in the area when the boy came from nowhere on the motorbike in front of his heavy vehicle and he was unable to stop on time.

A case was registered and necessary action was taken.

Police have arrested an unidentifi­ed young Lebanese cross-dresser and handed the person over to the State Security police for interrogat­ion, reports Al-Anba daily,

The cross-dresser was seized inside a mosque in Al-Oyoun, Jahra while attending a lecture.
