‘Pay comp in loss of kin’
Trio acquitted of theft
KUWAIT CITY, March 14: The Cassation Court has set a new unprecedented principle in civil compensation cases when it rejected to push for triple aging of a lawsuit.
The court ordered a local insurance company and a Kuwaiti citizen to pay KD 90,000 to a Kuwaiti family for the death of their father and their eldest son in a traffic accident that also resulted in serious injuries to two children.
Lawyer Yousef Hussein represented the family in their appeal for compensation for material and moral damages.
Trio acquitted:
The Criminal Court acquitted three citizens of stealing valuable items, including a computer.
Case files indicate the Public Prosecution charged the trio with breaking the window of the car and carting away valuables which were inside the plaintiff’s car in Amghara’s scrap yard.
