Trio ac­quit­ted of theft

KUWAIT CITY, March 14: The Cas­sa­tion Court has set a new un­prece­dented prin­ci­ple in civil com­pen­sa­tion cases when it re­jected to push for triple ag­ing of a law­suit.

The court or­dered a lo­cal in­sur­ance com­pany and a Kuwaiti cit­i­zen to pay KD 90,000 to a Kuwaiti fam­ily for the death of their fa­ther and their el­dest son in a traf­fic ac­ci­dent that also re­sulted in se­ri­ous in­juries to two chil­dren.

Lawyer Yousef Hus­sein rep­re­sented the fam­ily in their ap­peal for com­pen­sa­tion for ma­te­rial and moral dam­ages.

Trio ac­quit­ted:

The Crim­i­nal Court ac­quit­ted three cit­i­zens of steal­ing valu­able items, in­clud­ing a com­puter.

Case files in­di­cate the Pub­lic Prose­cu­tion charged the trio with break­ing the win­dow of the car and cart­ing away valu­ables which were in­side the plain­tiff’s car in Amghara’s scrap yard.
