Bail frees lawyer
By Jaber Al-Hamoud
KUWAIT CITY, March 14: The Civil-Commercial Circuit at the Court of First Instance has ordered a Kuwaiti woman to sell a real estate property and transfer the sum to her non-Kuwaiti ex-husband who paid for the property.
The court ruling was based on proof that the ex-husband had actually bought the property but registered it in the name of her Kuwaiti wife since he didn’t have the right to owning a property, but the woman later transferred the ownership to a Kuwaiti man after divorce.
The lawsuit filed by attorney of the ex-husband, Lawyer AbdulMohsin Al-Qattan indicated the plaintiff paid for the property but registered it in the name of the woman. He quoted the cheque number used in payment and the date it was withdrawn from a local bank.
He explained their marriage was blessed with five children, in addition to children the woman had in a previous marriage, but the man could not register the property in the name of any of his children, because they are also regarded as foreigners in Kuwait.
He reiterated the total sum paid for acquisition of the property was from his client, without any contribution from the woman. He reiterated his client signed an agreement with her to protect his right and

that of his children in case of any unforeseen situation in future. He emphasized that his client has full right to the current market value of the property.
Bail frees lawyer:
The Court of Appeals upheld the decision of the First Instance Court and refrained from punishing Lawyer Yasser AlJade’e. The court thereby obliged the lawyer to sign a pledge of good conduct for two years after paying KD 3,000 bail.
Lawyer Al-Jade’e was accused of circulating fake news on social media concerning results of the Parliamentary elections and arousing doubts in the Kuwaiti judiciary.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Court adjourned to April 10 the State Security case involving former MPs Musallam Al-Barrak, Mubarak Al-Wa’alan, Salim Al-Namlan and Abbas Al-Sha’abi for participating in a gathering that offended friendly nation, Jordan.
MP Adel Al-Damkhi attended the last session as a defense witness and testified he was at a meeting with the accused inside his own diwaniya when he received information that Jordanian security forces were to confront the ‘Dignity of Nation’ march.
The Public Prosecution accused Al-Barrak of broadcasting fake news outside Kuwait during an interview with a foreign TV channel where he claimed that some 3,500 Jordanian securitymen were in Kuwait, and the claim badly affected the reputation of the State and its interests.
All suspects have been charged for participating in a protest and defying the orders of securitymen but they denied the accusations before the court.
