Cochleanthes amazonica
This is a plant native to the Amazon Basin, mostly in Peru and Ecuador. The flowers are large, white, and the lip has some blue veins in it. Usually each stem produces about three flowers that are 3-4” in size. Flowering season can be at any time of the year, but usually begins in the fall and continues off and on through spring.
Site: This is a lower light plant and will tolerate light conditions.
Temperature: Nighttime temperature between 60-63 degrees, and day temperatures in the 70-’s or low 80’s.
Water: Cochleanthes like clean water, that is, rain or distilled. Allow the medium to approach dryness only.
