KUWAIT CITY, April 3: The Philippines is pushing forward to be the new partner of Kuwait in providing healthcare for Kuwaitis overseas and is bent on promoting medical tourism, disclosed Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Pedro Villa during the opening of the Kuwait Health Exhibition and Conference 2018 on Tuesday at the Kuwait International Fair Ground in Mishref.

The event under the patronage of Kuwait Minister of Health Sheikh Basel Hmoud Al-Sabah was inaugurated by Health Undersecretary Dr Mohammad Al-Khashti . We encourage Kuwait and its citizens to check out The Medical City Clark and also explore the possibility of investing in The Medical City,” stated Villa.

Every year, millions of patients travel overseas in search of the best quality and the most affordable medical treatments. In Kuwait, recent reports on Medical Tourism show that Kuwaitis spend over one billion per year overseas for medical care. Thousands of Kuwaiti nationals leave the Middle East each year for high quality healthcare.

“It’s nice to be back here again in Kuwait. This time we have more exciting offers. The Philippines can be considered their new partner for the healthcare of the Kuwaitis. We want them to know that the Philippines is also a place where there a lot of specialists especially in the medical field who can handle from the simplest to the most complex medical case for the Kuwaitis.

We have the best hospitals, that are internationally accredited and the kind of service that we offer is not just on the medical side but basically what we are highlighting here the typical characteristic of a Filipino, the compassionate care which is very distinct for Filipinos.

We want them to experience to experience the true compassionate care that the Philippines has to offer,” outlined Evelyn Yumul, The Medical City Marketing Director who is part of the Philippine delegation led by The Medical City Chief Executive Officer, Dr Cenon R Alfonso and Assistant Marketing Manager Kevin Alfonso.

The Medical City Clark is a worldclass Philippine healthcare organisation located in the 177-hectare Sabah Al-Ahmad Global Gateway Logistics City (GGLC) in Clark, Pampanga, named in honour of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah.

The Medical City Clark delegation thanked Ambassador Villa for supporting the group’s initiative in boosting medical cooperation between Kuwait and the Philippines.

“We have all the health needs that you have identified, that Kuwait needs from the rest of the places that you send out patients. From the simplest wellness programs, preventive, to the most complex procedures such as organ transplantation, complex surgical procedures involving the heart, the head and neck area, the pancreas, the gastro-intestinal tract, name it, we have it in the Philippines. We also specialise in bariatric and metabolic surgery.

We are ready to deliver the kind of care not only in terms of technology but also the humane way of caring,” pointed out Dr Sir Emmanuel Astudillo who specialises in Bariatric and Metabolic surgery.
