‘We will continue exerting efforts to lift ban on sports’

KUWAIT CITY, April 3, (KUNA): Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad AlJabri stressed Monday keenness of the relevant authorities to continue efforts to lift suspension of sports to all games, affirming need of concerted efforts of all to achieve this goal.
Al-Jabri made his remarks at a ceremony, honoring Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan, the former minister of State for Youth Affairs, organized by former president of Kuwait Football Association Sheikh Ahmad AlYussef Al-Sabah.
Al-Jabri added that the Kuwaiti people would be very happy to see the ban lifted, adding they will continue exerting all efforts to lift ban to all sports because this task was entrusted to him by His Highness the Amir when he took over the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs.
“To be honest, this issue will not be resolved in a short period of time, and I will not give certain dates until after clear scrutiny to the issue has been made, and we will tell the Kuwaiti people, members of Parliament, and all athletes that this is what we have and this is the roadmap to know who want to lift the suspension, or those who attempts to disrupt it,” he said.
“Our hands will be extended to all without prejudice to any party,” the minister said.
Al-Jabri also praised the role and efforts exerted by Minister Al-Roudhan during his tenure as Minister of State for Youth Affairs, specially in lifting the football suspension and organizing the Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 23).
For his part, Al-Roudhan expressed, in a similar speech, said “serving Kuwait from any position would be an honor for every citizen.” Al-Roudhan expressed his confidence in Kuwaiti people’s capabilities, including presidents of sporting clubs in raising the flag of Kuwait in international competitions.
Sheikh Ahmad said that this celebration comes in recognition of efforts exerted by Al-Roudhan to lift the suspension and his efforts to bring happiness to the Kuwaiti people.
