Second edition of Suad Al-Sabah Festival for Arab Literature Buds concludes
Suad Al-Sabah Publishing and Distribution House has concluded the second edition of Suad Al-Sabah Festival for Arab Literature Buds by honoring the winners in its contest, which witnessed a huge participation.
The event, which was organized with the cooperation of the National Library of Kuwait, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah who said the Arab literature festival contributes to enriching children with culture and deep-rooted Arab heritage.
He praised the excellent performance of the students in poetry, stressing that such festivals also contribute in reviving Arabic language among children and preparing them to acquire skills in Arabic language with its profound words, meanings, rhymes, poets and history.
On behalf of the publishing house’s Director Ali Al-Masoudi, Sheikha Suad Al-Sabah said, “Our historic duty is rendering classical poetry to be the hymn of our innocent children who speak our Arabic language, which is our identity that we take pride of”.
Sheikha Suad added, “In this era of technology of games and electronic murder of childhood, we find ourselves obliged to restore the rights of injured childhood in terms of happiness, knowledge, culture and pan-Arabism. We are convinced that Arabic poetry will shine and live with us once again”.
Director of National Library of Kuwait Kamel Al-Abduljaleel said cooperating with Suad Al-Sabah Publishing and Distribution House indicates that both entities share same objectives in this regard, and that such cooperation between both entities can deliver their mission.
He explained that the mission shared by Suad Al-Sabah Publishing and Distribution House and the National Library is represented in embracing and encouraging youth from a young age to develop interest in culture and knowledge through reading, memorizing and understanding Arabic poetry and mastering Arabic language grammar.
