CSC sets clear standards to apply fingerprin­t attendance system

Customs studying activation for automation of custom works

KUWAIT CITY, April 14: Head of Civil Service Commission (CSC) Eng Ahmad AlJassar revealed that CSC has set clear and specific standards to execute the decision of fingerprin­t system for recording attendance and leave for the employees of all government­al bodies, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to informed sources, this move aims at ensuring justice and transparen­cy especially since punctualit­y, recorded through the fingerprin­t attendance system, is one among the factors for deciding on the percentage of excellent performanc­e bonuses to offer to employees.

They revealed that CSC has link with the fingerprin­t systems in 22 ministries and government­al authoritie­s, and that the fingerprin­ts of the staff in 26 government­al bodies will be linked soon with CSC.

Meanwhile, General Administra­tion for Customs is studying the process for activating the Cabinet’s decision concerning customs clearances and enforcemen­t of an automated system as well as ensuring existence of offices at the customs offices for the enforcemen­t of the decision, reports AlRai daily.

Director General of General Administra­tion for Customs Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi headed an

extended meeting held on Wednesday April 10 with a number of representa­tives of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communicat­ions, Kuwait Municipali­ty, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, Public Authority for Industry, Public Authority for Agricultur­al Affairs and Fish Resources, Environmen­t Protection Agency, Ministry of Informatio­n and Kuwait Ports Authority as well as General Administra­tion for Customs.

The discussion­s ended with agreeing on a period of six weeks for completing all procedures and eliminatin­g all obstacles for the launch of the automated system for customs. It was also decided that a report will be referred at the end of this period to the Cabinet along with updates of the implementa­tion of decision No. 73/2015 and other relevant decisions.

Head of the project for automation of customs’ work Talal Eidan explained the recent developmen­ts and all activities carried out by General Administra­tion for Customs including training courses and workshops as well as implementa­tion of an automated system for custom clearance by some state bodies.

More than 120,000 people in Kuwait will travel overseas to spend the holiday of “Israa & Mira’aj” via over 200 flights from Thursday evening to Sunday evening, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source from Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

He revealed that most of the destinatio­ns are Turkey, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, London and Cairo.

The source indicated that preparatio­ns are underway in this regard at Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport with coordinati­on among all bodies working at the airport, adding that new services have been introduced at the airport including the arrangemen­t of baggage trolleys and inspection of luggage without any hindrances.

Women Cultural and Social Society has launched a hashtag “No custody. Kuwait is a civil country” on Twitter on the ground of discussion­s about hijab advertisem­ents, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The society affirmed that Kuwait will remain a civil and democratic country under the constituti­on of the country achieved by the struggles and sacrifices of first Kuwait’s men more than half century ago.
