Kuwaiti delegation; Pakistan ANF discuss anti-narcotic issues
Plans to boost brotherly ties
ISLAMABAD, April 19, (KUNA): An eight-member Kuwaiti delegation visited Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Headquarters in eastern Rawalpindi city on Thursday and discussed anti-narcotics matters and shared Kuwaiti experiences on the subject.
The Kuwaiti delegation was headed by Maj Gen Khaled Abdullah AlDaiin, Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Affairs, where Director General of ANF Maj Gen Musarrat Nawaz Malik led the Pakistani side in the dialogue.
According to a statement by ANF, the discussions focused on legal framework and other areas of mutual cooperation.
Both delegates emphasized need to further cement the brotherly relations of both the countries, enhance intelligence sharing and elimination of impediments in coordinated and international controlled delivery operations.
During the discussions, due emphasis was also laid for up-gradation of legal aspects compatible to prevalent environments. Need for regular interaction, communication and sharing of best practices
was also discussed.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met Thursday with Managing Director of McKinsey and Company in the Middle East Tarek Elmasry.
The two sides addressed Elmasry’s visit to the country and discussed key subjects of mutual interest, the defense ministry said in a statement.
Later, Sheikh Nasser A-Sabah met with Google’s Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Lino Cattaruzzi.
During the meeting, the defense minister reviewed Google’s latest updates and discussed with Cattaruzzi ways to boost bilateral cooperation in technology and digital environment.
Later, Sheikh Nasser met, separately, with US Ambassador Lawrence Silverman and Boeing’s President Marc Allen.
He discussed with them key issues and subjects of joint interest, in addition to aspects of Allen’s visit to Kuwait.
