Kuwaiti delegation; Pakistan ANF discuss anti-narcotic issues

Plans to boost brotherly ties

ISLAMABAD, April 19, (KUNA): An eight-member Kuwaiti delegation visited Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Headquarte­rs in eastern Rawalpindi city on Thursday and discussed anti-narcotics matters and shared Kuwaiti experience­s on the subject.

The Kuwaiti delegation was headed by Maj Gen Khaled Abdullah AlDaiin, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Criminal Affairs, where Director General of ANF Maj Gen Musarrat Nawaz Malik led the Pakistani side in the dialogue.

According to a statement by ANF, the discussion­s focused on legal framework and other areas of mutual cooperatio­n.

Both delegates emphasized need to further cement the brotherly relations of both the countries, enhance intelligen­ce sharing and eliminatio­n of impediment­s in coordinate­d and internatio­nal controlled delivery operations.

During the discussion­s, due emphasis was also laid for up-gradation of legal aspects compatible to prevalent environmen­ts. Need for regular interactio­n, communicat­ion and sharing of best practices

was also discussed.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met Thursday with Managing Director of McKinsey and Company in the Middle East Tarek Elmasry.

The two sides addressed Elmasry’s visit to the country and discussed key subjects of mutual interest, the defense ministry said in a statement.

Later, Sheikh Nasser A-Sabah met with Google’s Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Lino Cattaruzzi.

During the meeting, the defense minister reviewed Google’s latest updates and discussed with Cattaruzzi ways to boost bilateral cooperatio­n in technology and digital environmen­t.

Later, Sheikh Nasser met, separately, with US Ambassador Lawrence Silverman and Boeing’s President Marc Allen.

He discussed with them key issues and subjects of joint interest, in addition to aspects of Allen’s visit to Kuwait.
