17-year-old ‘mentally ill’ citizen commits suicide

Maid injured in failed bid to escape

KUWAIT CITY, April 19: A 17-yearold Kuwaiti youth committed suicide by hanging himself using a “shemagh” (cloth used as head scarf by Arab men especially from the Gulf region) inside his room in Sabah Al-Nasser area.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the incident, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location and found the youth hanging from the ceiling with the shemagh noosed around his neck.

After they pulled him down, paramedics checked him and confirmed that he was dead. The corpse was referred to the Forensics Department.

A case was registered and investigat­ions have been launched to determine the cause of his death.

The sources indicated that the youth was suffering from psychologi­cal problems.

Maid suffers fractures:

An Indonesian housemaid has been admitted to the Jahra Hospital with fractures following a void attempt to escape from the sponsor’s home in Saad Al-Abdullah, reports AlQabas daily.

The maid reportedly dropped a big bag from the window on the roof of the Diwaniya and jumped but landed on piece of wood which gave way.

2 held for immorality:

Personnel from the Criminal Investigat­ions Department have arrested two Egyptians, a driver working for an engineerin­g company, and a security guard for inciting immorality on their Twitter accounts, reports Al-Rai daily.

The two gay men were arrested after agreeing to commit immoral acts with an undercover police agent.

The Cybercrime Department has also requested Twitter administra­tion to close the account of the two men.
