Fishing Zubaidi banned for 45 days in Kuwaiti territorial waters
Import of fresh, frozen fish allowed: PAAAFR
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: Fishing Zubaidi in the Kuwaiti territorial waters has been banned for 45 days starting from June 1 to July 15 based on the decision of Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), reports Aljarida daily.
The ban has left its impact on the fish markets in Kuwait especially Souk Sharq where Kuwaiti Zubaidi has disappeared and replaced with imported fish.
However, PAAAFR’s decision allows the import of fresh, chilled and frozen Zubaidi fish during the stipulated period, subject to obtaining prior permission from the authority.
Head of Kuwait Federation of Fishermen Dhaher Al-Sawyyan predicted that the prices of fish will increase due to decrease in supply and that a large numbers of fishermen travel during the ban period, which coincides with the Holy Month of Ramadan, Eid Al-Fitr and the summer season.
Kuwaiti diplomacy has once again recorded an Arab triumph over the right of the Palestinians to reject the draft statement presented by the United States of America at the Security Council against the right of Palestinians to resist occupation and defend themselves, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to informed diplomatic sources, Kuwait’s attempts in the Security Council to confront Israeli aggression aim at expressing rejection of the aggression and oppression practiced against the Palestinian people.
They said such calls will not stop, affirming that Kuwait will continue to support the top Arab concern and bring an end to the Israeli practices against unarmed Palestinians.
The sources indicated about coordination in this regard among sisterly and friendly countries.
