Implementi­ng cost of final court rulings against MoH KD 206,000

KUWAIT CITY, June 3: The cost of implementi­ng final court rulings issued against the Health Ministry reached KD206,000, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

Sources affirmed the Ministry of Finance has approved disburseme­nt of the abovementi­oned amount based on the results of technical studies, disclosing the Health Ministry is allowed to require employees proven to be involved in the cases to shoulder the compensati­on value.

Undersecre­tary Dr Mustafa Redha urged citizens and expatriate­s favored in the final court rulings issued against the Health Ministry to visit his office immediatel­y to take the necessary action.

He also instructed the Legal, Financial and other relevant sectors to implement the final court rulings.

Minister of Justice, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Afassi will approve 17 leadership appointmen­t decisions once the Labor Assessment Committee completes its work in July, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.

Sources revealed the positions include principal, department head, supervisor, instructor and assistant undersecre­tary for Hajj Affairs.

Sources added the minister is keen on giving deserving young employees, including women, a chance to occupy leadership posts; indicating the Islamic groups have started putting pressure on the minister in a bid to occupy most of these positions.

In another developmen­t, the ministries of Interior, Social Affairs, Awqaf and Islamic Affairs are currently coordinati­ng their efforts to form a tripartite committee to arrest those who collect cash donations in diwaniyas, rest houses and stables.

Assistant Undersecre­tary for Administra­tive, Financial and Legal Affairs in the Ministry of Public Works Hamad Al-Ghareeb has announced that the excellent job performanc­e bonus of 8,000 employees will be deposited to their bank accounts next Tuesday, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Ghareeb said the total amount of the bonus reached KD 6 million; adding the amount that will be paid to deserving ordinary employees will range from KD 300 to KD 800 depending on their designatio­n; the directors and heads of department­s will receive KD 1,000 to KD 1,500; while those occupying higher positions will received KD 1,750 to KD 2,500. KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has set June 17 as the date to float a tender worth KD 2.5 million to supply spare parts of turbines and compressor­s for gas operations at Ahmadi Refinery.

According to sources, the tender for gas turbines comes in conjunctio­n with the operation of the fourth gas pipeline in the refinery and the imminence of the operation of the fifth pipeline next year with capacity reaching up to 800 million cubic meters daily per pipeline.

The gas pipeline is among the most important strategic projects of KNPC with the aim of increasing Kuwait’s capacity to produce and manufactur­e gas at a regional level for meeting the domestic needs and to export overseas.

The hashtag #ThankyouKu­wait was the highest trending topic on Twitter on Saturday with more than 100,000 tweets after the UN Security Council rejected to adopt the Arab draft resolution brought forward by Kuwait in demand for internatio­nal protection for Palestinia­n civilians in the Gaza Strip following the latest events, reports AlShahed daily.

The vote on the resolution saw ten countries voting in favor, four countries abstaining and the United States of America using veto to vote against the resolution.

Most of the tweets came from Palestine and the Palestinia­ns around the world as well as Arabs who believe in the Palestinia­n issue. Some described Kuwait as diplomatic­ally wise in the face of the USA.
