MPW to sign contracts as soon as Parliament approves budget
Andalus network project to be upgraded
KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Ministry of Public Works is waiting for the National Assembly to approve its budget in order to sign the contracts allocated for the current fiscal year, reports AlQabas daily quoting informed sources from the ministry.
They explained that the ministry has a number of tenders that will be signed as soon as the Parliament approves the budget including eight projects with the maintenance department for developing internal roads in different parts of Kuwait.
The department of construction projects has a number of contracts for constructing state buildings. The same applies to the department of hygiene engineering.
Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering Affairs at the ministry Abdulmohsen Al-Enzi said the sector has projects for upgrading networks and raising their levels by improving the materials of the cables, maintaining the streaming and ending the problem of smell.
He explained that the first project is related to upgrading the Andalus networks at a total cost of KD 19.3 million. The old network will be replaced by a new one with advanced specifications. The length of the network will be 81 kilometers long and the number of manholes is about 2,700.
Al-Enzi revealed that the second project is related to upgrading the network in Grenada and Sabah Al-Nasser areas at a total cost of KD 134.7 million, adding that the network is about 39 kilometers long and has about 1450 manholes.
