‘Kuwait is the biggest supporter of Palestinian cause’
MoE to allocate 8 seats for Palestinian graduates with excellent results: Tahboub
KUWAIT CITY, June 13: Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait Rami Tahboub affirmed the Kuwait is the biggest supporter of the Palestinian cause, which is quite evident from its role in this regard in regional and international assemblies, reports AlQabas daily.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony held in honor of Palestinian high school graduates with excellent performance, he praised the role played by Kuwait in support of the Palestinian people and Palestinian cause.
The ambassador declared that Ministry of Education and Higher Education will allocate eight seats for Palestinian graduates with excellent results – two seats in Kuwait University and six seats in Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), indicating that priority will be for graduates with high grades.
He said the foreign contracting committee will soon leave for Palestine to sign contracts with a new batch of Palestinian teachers for Mathematics subject for the upcoming academic year.
Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Executive Affairs at Ministry of Education Fahad Al-Ghais affirmed the ministry’s keenness to enhance the performance of students throughout the upcoming academic year.
Regional Director of Arab Countries in the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Zina Ahmad says the UN-Habitat is responsible for sustainable urban development within the framework of the Millennia Development Goals, reports Al-Qabas daily.
On the sidelines of her visit to the country as part of a regional tour, Ahmad affirmed that Kuwait is ahead in putting civil plans, adding the Kuwait office is the one that organizes and expands their operations in the GCC countries.
Concerning the future UN–Habitat projects, she said, “We look forward to achieving the new urban agenda and the 2030 agenda in the Arab countries particularly in the GCC countries through the implementation of a series of ambitious plans”.
