Kuwaiti swindled:

Police are looking for an unidentifi­ed person for swindling a citizen and withdrawin­g more than KD 18,000 from his bank account, reports Al-Rai daily.

In spite of the banks and the security authoritie­s frequently warning the citizens and expatriate­s not to fall prey to fraudsters, the Kuwaiti became a victim when an unidentifi­ed suspect posing as an employee of a telecommun­ications company congratula­ted the citizen for winning a huge cash prize and requested him to provide him with detailed informatio­n about his bank account.

A few minutes later, the citizen received a bank message that the money from his account had been withdrawn. Fire broke out in a house in Hassawi area resulting in the death of a woman and child of Ivorian nationalit­y and injuries to seven others.

In a press statement issued by Kuwait Fire Service Directorat­e (KFSD), when the Control Room of KFSD received informatio­n about a four-storey building in Hassawi area on fire, firefighte­rs from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Ardiya and Shuwaikh fire stations were dispatched to the location within four minutes.

Bedoun arrested:

Police have arrested a bedoun for failing to pay KD 4,000 debt, reports Al-Rai daily.

When the bedoun was arrested in Salmiya, he claimed he was on the verge of death. However, he took to his heels, climbed the barbed wire fence of a compound in the area and threatened police using a metal object.

A backup force rushed to the area, arrested the man and handed him over to the Sentences Enforcemen­t Department.

Drunk Kuwaiti held:

Police have arrested a Kuwaiti for consuming alcohol, reports Al-Rai daily.

Reckless

drivers

caught:

Ah-madi securityme­n arrested nine reckless drivers and seized their vehicles during campaigns they launched in Ahmadi Governorat­e against those who drive dangerousl­y and perform stunts on public roads, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securityme­n, after receiving informatio­n about the presence of reckless drivers, rushed to the location and seized the nine suspects. Their vehicles were referred to the seized-vehicle garage.
