NBK sponsors event to honor outstanding high school graduates

KUWAIT CITY, June 13: For the eleventh year in succession, the National Bank of Kuwait sponsored the Ministry of Education event which was organized to honor outstanding high school graduates in both science and arts section, says a press release issued by the bank.
This is in addition to graduates from the Religious Institute and high school students from the private education sector for the academic year 2017/2018.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Minister of Education, Minister of Higher Education Dr Hamad Mohammad Al-Azmi at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) in Shuwaikh.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy CEO of the Kuwait National Bank Group Mrs Sheikha Al-Bahar congratulated the outstanding students and said she is proud of their achievements and the hard work they put in to realize such a remarkable success.
Al-Bahar asserted, it is for the 11th consecutive year the NBK is sponsoring the event to honor outstanding high school graduates which falls within the framework of social responsibility of the bank and its obligations towards the education sector.
Al-Bahar said, it is very essential to invest in the education sector for the development of societies. She added, the participation of the NBK has become distinguished imprint on the social responsibility of the bank and an integral part of its obligations towards the community and the country.
Al-Bahar stressed on the significance of participating in such an important educational event which aims to identify the ambitions of the outstanding students, encourage them to attain their objectives and urge them to exert more efforts.
She added the NBK believes in the special capabilities of students which qualify them to offer their services to their country in future, especially that there are institutions which are ready to invest in promising human resources and create appropriate job opportunities for them in future.
Al-Bahar pointed out the KNB constantly gives priority to these outstanding graduates to ensure and guarantee the future and the continuation of society.
She called this is a national and social duty and a real investment. She added, the bank has various activities specialized in the development of national cadres.
Al-Bahar added the Bank receives, throughout the year, various groups from schools and universities for field visits which are organized by the bank to familiarize these students on know how about the work and the banking system in a prelude to prepare them in this area.
Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi said the ministry has harnessed all its resources to provide tools for success and excellence for its students.
Addressing the gathering, Al-Azmi said the ministry has provided all material and moral means to encourage students.
This is in addition to implanting in them the better values to help them build their homeland and better human beings.
Al-Azmi explained all sectors of the society plays an important role in creating an environment conducive to excellence and supremacy, starting with the family, which plants in its children the love of science and work silently exerting tremendous effort to create the optimal learning environment in the schools, including teachers who provide the best and make efforts to serve their students to reach today’s levels of excellence.
He pointed out the private sector and the civil organizations are working to build a respectable human being and this is exactly what the National Bank of Kuwait doing annually by sponsoring this event.
During the ceremony, Dr AlAzmi and Sheikha Al-Bahar participated in honoring about 150 top students (Kuwaitis and nonKuwaitis) in the scientific, literary and religious disciplines and also the high school graduates from the private school in addition students who have earned scientific excellence in competitions in which the Ministry of Education participated locally and in the Gulf.
Dr Al Azmi honored the National Bank of Kuwait for its contribution to education and its support to students at different educational levels. The minister presented a special gift to Sheikha Al-Bahar in recognition of NBK’s educational achievements.
The National Bank of Kuwait is keen to take care of Kuwaiti youth and support educational activities that aim at developing national skills and equipping them with knowledge and science as one of its priorities within the social responsibility it is committed to.
The Bank provides various forms of support to students through educational and training initiatives, including specialized training courses specifically designed for national graduates.
The National Bank of Kuwait provides training courses for school students during the summer that aim at making them familiar with the nature of banking work and direct contact with the labor market through the summer training program specially designed for this segment of youth.
Moreover, there are many training programs for university graduates such as the National Academy, the Youth Program, the Human Resources Programs and others.
