NBK sponsors event to honor outstandin­g high school graduates

KUWAIT CITY, June 13: For the eleventh year in succession, the National Bank of Kuwait sponsored the Ministry of Education event which was organized to honor outstandin­g high school graduates in both science and arts section, says a press release issued by the bank.

This is in addition to graduates from the Religious Institute and high school students from the private education sector for the academic year 2017/2018.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Minister of Education, Minister of Higher Education Dr Hamad Mohammad Al-Azmi at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) in Shuwaikh.

Speaking on the occasion, deputy CEO of the Kuwait National Bank Group Mrs Sheikha Al-Bahar congratula­ted the outstandin­g students and said she is proud of their achievemen­ts and the hard work they put in to realize such a remarkable success.

Al-Bahar asserted, it is for the 11th consecutiv­e year the NBK is sponsoring the event to honor outstandin­g high school graduates which falls within the framework of social responsibi­lity of the bank and its obligation­s towards the education sector.

Al-Bahar said, it is very essential to invest in the education sector for the developmen­t of societies. She added, the participat­ion of the NBK has become distinguis­hed imprint on the social responsibi­lity of the bank and an integral part of its obligation­s towards the community and the country.

Al-Bahar stressed on the significan­ce of participat­ing in such an important educationa­l event which aims to identify the ambitions of the outstandin­g students, encourage them to attain their objectives and urge them to exert more efforts.

She added the NBK believes in the special capabiliti­es of students which qualify them to offer their services to their country in future, especially that there are institutio­ns which are ready to invest in promising human resources and create appropriat­e job opportunit­ies for them in future.

Al-Bahar pointed out the KNB constantly gives priority to these outstandin­g graduates to ensure and guarantee the future and the continuati­on of society.

She called this is a national and social duty and a real investment. She added, the bank has various activities specialize­d in the developmen­t of national cadres.

Al-Bahar added the Bank receives, throughout the year, various groups from schools and universiti­es for field visits which are organized by the bank to familiariz­e these students on know how about the work and the banking system in a prelude to prepare them in this area.

Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azmi said the ministry has harnessed all its resources to provide tools for success and excellence for its students.

Addressing the gathering, Al-Azmi said the ministry has provided all material and moral means to encourage students.

This is in addition to implanting in them the better values to help them build their homeland and better human beings.

Al-Azmi explained all sectors of the society plays an important role in creating an environmen­t conducive to excellence and supremacy, starting with the family, which plants in its children the love of science and work silently exerting tremendous effort to create the optimal learning environmen­t in the schools, including teachers who provide the best and make efforts to serve their students to reach today’s levels of excellence.

He pointed out the private sector and the civil organizati­ons are working to build a respectabl­e human being and this is exactly what the National Bank of Kuwait doing annually by sponsoring this event.

During the ceremony, Dr AlAzmi and Sheikha Al-Bahar participat­ed in honoring about 150 top students (Kuwaitis and nonKuwaiti­s) in the scientific, literary and religious discipline­s and also the high school graduates from the private school in addition students who have earned scientific excellence in competitio­ns in which the Ministry of Education participat­ed locally and in the Gulf.

Dr Al Azmi honored the National Bank of Kuwait for its contributi­on to education and its support to students at different educationa­l levels. The minister presented a special gift to Sheikha Al-Bahar in recognitio­n of NBK’s educationa­l achievemen­ts.

The National Bank of Kuwait is keen to take care of Kuwaiti youth and support educationa­l activities that aim at developing national skills and equipping them with knowledge and science as one of its priorities within the social responsibi­lity it is committed to.

The Bank provides various forms of support to students through educationa­l and training initiative­s, including specialize­d training courses specifical­ly designed for national graduates.

The National Bank of Kuwait provides training courses for school students during the summer that aim at making them familiar with the nature of banking work and direct contact with the labor market through the summer training program specially designed for this segment of youth.

Moreover, there are many training programs for university graduates such as the National Academy, the Youth Program, the Human Resources Programs and others.
