Last phase of concrete laying for Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge, Sabiyya Link to be done in July
Call to move students of Farwaniya Religious Institute for Girls to another school
KUWAIT CITY, June 18: The last phase of the concrete laying for Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge and Sabiyya Link Project will be done in July to signify the end of project with only the finishing touches remaining, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting the Director General of Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport Engineer Ahmad Al-Hissan.
He added the remaining phase involves simple works to be done according to the laid down plan, and it includes painting, installation of sign posts, building works on top of the executed project and asphalt laying, in addition to few minor works.
He reaffirmed that Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge project is one of the massive local and international projects, and it’s expected to move the country to an enviable level in future based on the development plan set for Kuwait’s future.
Meanwhile, Director of Religious Education Anwar Al-Abdulghafour has requested the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Fatmah Al-Kanderi to move the students of Farwaniya Religious Institute for Girls to a school within the Capital Educational Area or Farwaniya Educational Area to ensure safety of students and staff of the school, reports Al-Anba daily.
In a letter to Al-Kanderi, Al-Abdulghafour explained the current school is a former kindergarten renovated with additional structures in 2006 to accommodate middle and secondary classes, and the space is not enough for the administration of middle and secondary levels, as well as academic departments.
He declared the buildings are dilapidated, because no maintenance work has been carried out there for the past two years. He stated some buildings have become weak from the ground level, especially on the first floor (this was confirmed by engineers from the ministry who used equipment to measure the rate of weakness in the foundation). He reiterated the situation is dangerous for students and teachers of the institute, and “urgent action must be taken before it is too late”.
