966 illegal ads removed

KUWAIT CITY, June 18: The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipali­ty announced the inspection­s teams issued 18 citations and removed 966 illegal advertisem­ents in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorat­e during the month of May, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In his statement, Director of Audit and Service Follow-up in Mubarak AlKabeer Municipali­ty Dhidaan Al-Adwani explained that the unlicensed advertisem­ents were illegally placed on the streets and complexes in the governorat­e. His department inspected 105 shops to ensure municipali­ty laws and regulation­s are strictly observed.

Meanwhile, police have arrested a 28-year-old Kuwaiti for stealing the bag of Asian while he was shopping inside the Salwa Cooperativ­e Society, reports AlRai

The tour also comes in implementa­tion of the directives of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.

Al-Nahham visited first the traffic sector, where he was received by Acting Assistant Undersecre­tary for traffic affairs Major General Fahad Al-Shuwaie and some senior officials, the statement added.

He visited some department­s of the sector that included the e-driving license and the central control room, conveying greetings of the minister to the staffers.

He voiced his gratitude to efforts, capabiliti­es and efficiency by personnel to carry out duties and missions, it noted.

He called on traffic sector’s staff to face outlaws and ensure motorists, lauding at the same time cooperatio­n and coordinati­on among the ministry’s sectors.

Afterwards, Al-Nahham visited the public security sector and was briefed on action plans and efforts exerted to maintain security and follow up all security issues as well as research mechanisms to attain informatio­n which leads to arrest criminals and outlaws, the statement pointed out.

He thanked all officials and staffers of the sector for their strenuous efforts aiming to protect the dear homeland, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah.

Finally, he paid a visit to the Coast Guard directorat­e, and listened to a brief presentati­on about the control room and action plans.

He was briefed on readiness and efficiency of security personnel to deal with different conditions, as well as action mechanisms to secure territoria­l waters.

He stressed that the Coast Guard men are watchful eyes that have been offering precious sacrifices and sparing no efforts to safeguard the country.

Al-Nahham was accompanie­d by some senior officials of the ministry.

The arrest came after the man filed a complaint with the area police station. Police then viewed the CCTV footage and identified the thief.

After the Kuwaiti was summoned for interrogat­ion, he admitted to spending KD 100 which was in the wallet.

The thief has been referred to the authoritie­s.

And, a quarrel broke out between two Iraqis and two Bedoun residents in Fahad Al-Ahmad ballroom in Da’iya area while they were watching a football match. No injuries were reported, says Al-Seyassah.

Securityme­n and paramedics were dispatched to the location after informatio­n about the physical fight was received. The two parties were referred to the police station of the area.
