Amir congratula­tes president of Seychelles, Iceland on nat’l days

KUWAIT CITY, June 18, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has sent a cable to President of Seychelles Danny Faure congratula­ting him on his country’s national day. Their Highnesses the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, respective­ly Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, addressed cables of identical content to President Faure.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also sent a cable to President of Iceland Guoni Johannesso­n, congratula­ting him on his country’s national day.

His Highness the Amir expressed good wishes to President Johannesso­n and his country so it may witness further progress and prosperity.

Their Highnesses the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, respective­ly Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, addressed cables of identical content to Iceland’s president.

Furthermor­e, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent a congratula­tory cable to Speaker of the Parliment of Iceland Steingrimu­r J. Sigfusson on Sunday on his country’s national day.

KUWAIT CITY, June 18, (KUNA): Up to 256,000 passengers have used the Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport (KIA) during Eid Al-Fitr holidays, through 1,700 flights, said Director General of Kuwait’s Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Eng Yusuf Al-Fawzan Saturday.

Al-Fawzan made the statement to KUNA on the sidelines of an inspection tour by DGCA Chairman Sheikh Salman Sabah Salim Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, to the airport’s Terminal 1 and the new Terminal 4.

In spite of the rising numbers of passengers, movement at the airport is proceeding normally and smoothly, in line with a set plan, Al-Fawzan noted.

During the visit, Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud highly appreciate­d the efforts by the bodies operating at the airport, with the Interior Ministry and the General Administra­tion of Customs and the DGCA on top.

Earlier, the DGCA said that they had made improvemen­ts at Terminal 1 for the summer season.

Meanwhile, air traffic at The Kuwait Internatio­nal Airport was back to normal Sunday after a few hours of disruption due to unstable weather, said the Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The DGCA resumed traffic at the airport after the improvemen­t of the visibility level, head of the Air Aviation Department at the DGCA Emad Al-Senosi told KUNA.
