Egyptian held with drugs in Abbasiya

‘Reckless’ driver nabbed

KUWAIT CITY, June 21: Farwaniya securityme­n arrested a 51-year-old Egyptian in Abbasiya for the possession of an undisclose­d quantity of narcotics including hashish and drug parapherna­lia.

While patrolling the area, the securityme­n noticed the suspect who was sleeping inside his vehicle where they found the narcotics and drug parapherna­lia.

Police car damaged:

A Bedoun youth was arrested for damaging the front glass of a patrol vehicle in Kabad area after he was stopped by traffic officers because he committed a traffic violation, says Al-Seyassah.

According to security sources, traffic officers were patrolling on Kabad Road when they noticed a man committing a traffic violation and ordered him to pull over. However, the man insulted them and then damaged the front glass of the patrol vehicle. After requesting for backup, officers arrested him and referred him to Sulaibiya Police Station where necessary legal action was taken.

Cop caught cheating:

A policeman working for the Criminal Investigat­ion Department has been arrested and referred to the Waha Police Station for verbally insulting and attempting to beat a Kuwaiti teacher, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily said, this happened when the suspect who is answering a high school exam, was caught cheating.

He was caught using an earphone to answer the questions and when he was caught, he became furious, showed his ID and attempted to assault the teacher.

The school administra­tion then called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior and the suspect was arrested. then referred to the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) along with the suspect.

Motorist sought:

Police are looking for the hit-and-run motorist for running over a Kuwaiti woman immediatel­y after she left a beauty parlor in Hawalli, reports Al-Rai daily.

The woman has been hospitaliz­ed with a fracture in the foot.

Police have requested to see the CCTV footage of the camera installed in the parlor.

Apparently, the suspect was fast asleep inside his vehicle when the officers approached him for checking, and found illicit drugs and related tools. He was referred to the concerned authority for investigat­ion.

Meanwhile, security officers arrested a motorist on the Seventh Ring Road in possession of illicit substance.

The motorist aroused suspicion of the officers due to erratic manner in which his vehicle was moving. They found the contraband after conducting a search inside his vehicle. He was taken to Drug Prosecutio­n.
