-

KUWAIT CITY, June 23: The head of the Union of Hajj Caravans Ahmad Al-Duweihi disclosed the Higher Committee for Hajj will meet next Sunday under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Eng Farid Amadi to resolve all issues related to the Bedoun pilgrimage this year, reports Al-Anba daily.

This year permission has been granted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for 1,000 Bedoun to perform the pilgrimage.

Al-Duweihi told the daily the Hajj Department at the Ministry of Awqaf has developed a plan for the distribution of Bedoun pilgrims into five groups according to a tender with sealed envelopes.

He pointed out the prices of Bedoun pilgrimage will be in accordance with category ‘C’, according to a decision that has been issued by the Higher Committee for Hajj, which will be a maximum of 1,300 dinars.

He explained that the distribution of pilgrims will be 180 pilgrims in each group, while the remaining 100 will be distributed according to the relationship with the Kuwaiti citizens as well as the Bedoun nurses who are not enrolled in Hajj.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Awqaf will give priority for the elderly and families and those who have not previously performed the Hajj.

Meanwhile, as usual, the statistics of divorce and marriage are not reassuring. The numbers are ringing alarm bells warning of the increasing disintegration of families and issues of expenses and custody claims which are being battled in family courts, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The statistics for the first quarter of 2018 show during every 24 hours there are 33 marriages and 22 of them have ended in divorce on the same day.

The total number of marriages concluded during the first three months of this year was 2,995, compared with 1985 divorces during the same period.

A source familiar with the issue, said the social networking sites was one of the most prominent reason for divorce in recent years.

The same source pointed out the divorce was not in varying proportions between university graduates and holders of intermediate degrees, since the divorce occurs in all stages of education, which requires a study to discuss the reasons.
