‘Sada Al-Samt’ play will be entry of Kuwait to Cairo Int’l Fest – director

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: Distinguis­hed Kuwaiti director, Faisal Al-Omairi, has announced that the play, “Sada Al-Samt” (Echo of Silence), will be the entry of Kuwait to the Cairo Internatio­nal Festival for Contempora­ry and Experiment­al Theater, which will be held in Cairo, Egypt in September, reports Annahar daily.

Speaking to the daily, the director commended the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) for supporting the theatrical sector.

He said he is now preparing a new theatrical work for Kuwait Theatrical Festival in December.

He also stressed the need to support the young generation and give them the opportunit­y to work in the field of drama.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti television host and icon of children’s shows Mama Anisa reassured her fans that she is in good health condition after the spread of news about her illness, reports Al-Anba daily.

She thanked all those who telephoned her to inquire about her health. She also wished for good health for the public and prosperity for the country.

In the meantime, Director of Kuwait Internatio­nal Festival for Monodrama Jamal Al-Lahw is busy preparing the next festival which will be launched in April next year, reports Al-Anba daily.

Speaking to the daily, he disclosed the organizers are currently working on the selection of the personalit­y who will serve as the ‘face’ of the festival. He hinted that a top artiste who enriched the artistic and theatrical movement will be chosen for this role.
