HH Amir congratula­tes Bolivia, Jamaica on National Days

Arab League welcomes signing of power-sharing deal in S. Sudan

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah wished Bolivia well as the country celebrates its National Day on Monday, extending his congratula­tions in a cable he sent to President Evo Morales.

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar messages to the Bolivian leader.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-Sabah congratula­ted Jamaica on Monday as the country celebrates its National Day, wishing its Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen well in a message he sent to him. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah extended their congratula­tions to the Jamaican official as well.

Also, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent a pair of cables of congratula­tions Monday to the Jamaican speaker of the House of Representa­tives Pearnel Charles, and Senator Tom Tavares-Finson, on their country’s National Day.

Speaker Al-Ghanim also sent another pair of cables of congratula­tions to the Bolivian President of the senate Gabriela Montano Viana, and the President of House of Senates Jose Alberto Gonzales Samaniego, on their country’s National Day.

Arab League welcomed on Monday the signing of the final agreement of power sharing in southern Sudan to end the civil war.

In a press statement, Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit expressed his appreciati­on of this agreement, saying, “this important step and political would help in putting an end to all disputes that prevented maintainin­g peace and security in the region”.
