Some parents of bedoun students decry delay in wards’ registration

Counsulate staff to monitor Kuwaiti pilgrims

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: Some parents and guardians of Bedoun students have lamented about the ambiguity of the mechanism for the registration of junior students in public schools, pointing out the registration in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Educational District has not started till now considering this was done in July last year, reports Al-Anba daily.

Director of the educational district Mansour Al-Daihani said there is no problem in the registration process, but the district has yet to receive official instruction in this regard from the Ministry of Education.

He thinks the registration process might have been delayed because the ministry is still studying the possibility of allowing Bedoun students to enroll in schools near their homes like those located in Jahra and Capital governorates.

Meanwhile, a source from the educational sector disclosed that Jahra Educational District has forwarded a memo to the Public Education Sector regarding the registration of Bedoun students; indicating it is impossible for the district to accommodate Bedoun students due to huge population of students in the district.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s General Consul in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Wael AlEnzi has confirmed the presence of the consulate’s staff in Makkah throughout the Hajj season, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Enzi revealed teams from the consulate will monitor Kuwaiti pilgrims, indicating some of these teams will be assigned at King Abdullaziz Airport in Jeddah to supervise the arrival and departure of pilgrims.

He told the daily that the consulate is coordinating with the concerned officials at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia, stressing they are keen on providing all kinds of support and assistance to pilgrims.

He added the consulate provides direct contact numbers for the pilgrims to call in case of emergency.
