Burgan Bank celebrates ‘Int’l Youth Day’
Commitment to youth empowerment
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: Burgan Bank, one of the leading providers of progressive career opportunities, celebrates the “International Youth day” which is observed annually on August 12th. It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly, to limit growing concerns, equip each with resourceful practices and recognize young people’s role in enabling social cohesion and equality, inclusivity and societal sustainability. Owing to its firm belief that education aids better decision making and is the cornerstone of youth empowerment and development, the bank celebrated the occasion with 20 talented interns from its ongoing summer internship program this year.
Organized every year by the Learning and Development department at Burgan Bank, the 2018 summer internship program is an intensive educational course of two weeks designed for youth between the ages of 15 and 19. It consisted of workshops that are a combination of practical and theoretical training dedicated to providing applicants with valuable knowledge on the banking sector and preparing future leaders with high professional efficiency. In addition to offering a variety of subjects such as leadership skills, teamwork, creative thinking, public speaking and modern banking.
Burgan Bank, through its summer internship program, aims to offer its interns the opportunity to witness real life challenges and expertise in the banking sector, and enabling a positive influence on their career planning prospects. On the occasion of “International Youth Day”, Burgan Bank’s Public Relations representatives, in coordination with the Learning and Development Department, distributed gifts to future bankers to inspire and motivate diligence, ambition and dedication to Burgan Bank by investing valuable time in its specially designed summer programs that will be beneficial in the long run.
