MP forwards queries to MoE
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: MP Khalil AlSaleh has forwarded questions to Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamed Al-Azmi on the appointment of new employees at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), claiming that the rules and regulations in this regard have been violated.
For the purpose of clarification, the lawmaker inquired: “What are the conditions for hiring Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti employees under all types of contracts? Did the KISR Board of Directors and Civil Service Commission (CSC) approve these conditions? Kindly provide copy of the approval and justify if there is none. Kindly submit list of employees appointed from 2016 till the date of preparing these questions in addition to their academic qualifications, order of priority and interviews.”
He continued to ask: “Were there cases of exceptions in appointments from 2016 till date? If yes, kindly specify such instances. Does the institute use the same conditions for hiring Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis? If yes, kindly justify. Were non-Kuwaitis hired based on conditions different from Kuwaitis? Kindly specify such instances with justifications. Kindly provide list of employees who resigned from 2016 till date with reasons for resignation. Kindly provide replacement cases among the permanent staff since 2016 till date. If none, does it mean the CSC exempted KISR from the replacement policy?”
On the other hand, MP Khalil Abdul has submitted questions to State Minister for Housing and Services Affairs Jenan Bushahri about the housing projects in N10, N11 and N12 areas in South Mutla’a and the proposed timetable for various works which need to be done in the city.
He asked about the expected date for citizens to obtain a construction permit for their plots in the abovementioned areas according to studies, decisions and approvals from the ministry; in addition to agreement of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) to distribute the plots in a previous meeting. In case of delay in handing over the housing projects in these areas, he requested for justifications supported by documents to ensure the PAHW did not cause the delay.
