Government relentless on supporting youth: Al Jabri

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14, (KUNA): Minister of Informatio­n and Minister of State for Youth Mohammad Al-Jabri said Tuesday Kuwait government was keen on supporting youth specially that they represent the larget segment of the society.

Al-Jabri was speaking to KUNA after honoring Mishal Al-Otaibi, a Kuwaiti engineer who had recently won a prize for the best scientific research in architectu­re at a conference in Paris, France, recently. The government of Kuwait, he added, was relentless in its support of Kuwaiti youth and innovators.

Al-Otaibi won among 500 people from around the world at the 2nd European Conference on Industrial Engineerin­g and Operations Management (IEOM).

The engineer said he was proud to see flag of Kuwait hoisted high at the IEOM.

Al-Otaibi was nominited by US University of Kansas to participat­e in IEOM to represent the US, but he categorica­lly rejected this and insisted on representi­ng Kuwait.

Al-Otaibi said after winning the award his scientific research aimed at determinin­g the effect of air distributi­on systems in buildings and the thermal comfort for visitors and occupants of these buildings based on the height of the ceiling as well as reducing the amount of energy consumptio­n by 40 percent. This research contribute­s to the preservati­on of the environmen­t by saving energy and reducing the carbon footprint of buildings.
