Public Prosecution summons some expat students concerning ‘forged certificates’
Do not fall prey to fake labor contracts, Egyptian teachers told
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: The Public Prosecution has summoned for interrogation some expatriate students following reports of falsifying their secondary school certificates, reports Al-Rai daily quoting knowledgeable education sources.
However, according to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ministry of Interior no more than ten expatriates are accused of falsifying their documents.
Meanwhile, Egyptian Ministry of Manpower has warned the Egyptian teachers desiring to work in Kuwait, not to fall prey to brokers and fake labor contracts, reports Annahar daily.
This came after the Ministry of Education discovered the promotion of fake contracts which were ‘sold’ for 20,000 Egyptian pounds.
The Egyptian Minister of Manpower Mohammad Safa’an was reacting after he received a report from the Egyptian Embassy in Kuwait on the fake labor contracts phenomenon inside Kuwait.
The Labor Consultant Ahmad Yousef said the Kuwait Ministry of Education has warned against dealing with such people and said teachers are hired only through official channels and committees affiliated to the ministry.
The Ministry of Health is investigating the source of a video clip that went viral in the social media showing some cleaning company workers changing the curtains inside wards separating patients from each other with utter disrespect to the patients which amounts to violating their privacy, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting sources said there are some standing rules and regulations which should be aptly followed by the nursing staff.
The sources added disciplinary action shall be taken against the nursing staff on duty at the time and the company hiring the cleaning workers will be fined. This is in addition to drawing the attention of the head of the nursing staff of the hospital.
An unidentified official stressed the ministry is keen on the privacy and comfort of patients which are no less important than the interest in the quality of treatment given to them.
The source also stressed on the need to follow official channels to send complaints and observations to the concerned officials in the Ministry of Health to ensure quality treatment as well as service instead of resorting to the social media.
Few days after Public Authority for Telecommunications issued a decision to block caller-ID facility, a number of apps informed their users that their databases have been destroyed, reports Al-Rai daily.
However, an expert from the telecommunications sector informed the daily that the destruction of the databases does not represent a radical solution because, if these apps legally rectify their status later and recover the lost data, the names will start showing, which is in violation of the system.
He stressed that the way phone numbers are saved by the users of these apps is the main reason behind the data that emerges in apps, which will not solve the problem but aggravate the risks especially with the programs that work outside Kuwait.
A number of employees of Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) complained about a defect in the the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), reports Al-Shahed daily.
They said the mistake is a 15-minute time difference in the device; for instance, the device shows 2:45 pm when it is 3 pm, because of which they had to wait until the time is 3 pm on the device out of fear of being held accountable for leaving early.
Assistant Undersecretary for Operations Affairs at Ministry of Interior Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh issued a circular to all sectors of the ministry to affirm the transfer of police fund from Al-Waha area to Al-Shamiya area behind Public Authority for Compensations building (Police Union Building), reports Al-Anba daily.
This step was taken in response to a letter No 2082 sent by the director general of the Minister’s Office on Monday, Aug 13 in this regard.
