Kuwait University accepts 238 illegal residents as students for Ist semester
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 15, (KUNA): Kuwait University (KU) has accepted 238 illegal residents as students for the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019, Central System for the Remedy of Situations of Illegal Residents (CARIRS) said.
Director of Information Department at CARIRS Abdullah Al-Farhan told KUNA Saturday that these students were registered for studies in various faculties.
They include 143 male and female children of Kuwaiti women and 95 others.
He added that the CARIRS coordinated with the Deanship of Admission and Registration of (KU) to register these students through conducting meetings and delegated a number of his employees to attend while submitting registration’s applications.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Undersecretary Fared Emadi said the ministry has been rehabilitating some of the Imam Al-Sadeq Mosque bombing suspects, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and Kuwait University, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In a press statement, Emadi disclosed the ministry intends to integrate people with extremist ideologies back into the society after the successful rehabilitation of 21 members of the Island Black Cell (Khilyat Aswad Al-Jazeera). He affirmed this is a global requirement, especially since the rehabilitation program succeeded in teaching them the real principles of Islam.
