The Tech­ni­cal Com­mit­tee at the Mu­nic­i­pal­ity Coun­cil, headed by Coun­cil Mem­ber Ab­dul Aziz Al-Me­jil, has re­jected the ap­pli­ca­tion of pri­vate sec­tor em­ploy­ees to al­lo­cate land mea­sur­ing 2,500 square me­ters for their union. In a press state­ment, Al-Me­jil ex­plained the com­mit­tee took the de­ci­sion to ad­here to the prin­ci­ple of good neigh­bor­li­ness.

He dis­closed the com­mit­tee also re­ferred to the ex­ec­u­tive au­thor­ity an ur­gent let­ter to Kuwait Ports Au­thor­ity re­gard­ing the cre­ation of new ac­tiv­i­ties for stor­age ar­eas at Shuwaikh Port.

He said the com­mit­tee shelved sev­eral sug­ges­tions such as the de­vel­op­ment of is­lands in the South like Umm Al-Ma­ra­dem, Kubar and Qaroh, im­ple­men­ta­tion of West Hadiya project, pro­vi­sion of so­cial ser­vices in ideal ar­eas un­der the man­age­ment of co­op­er­a­tive so­ci­eties, and can­cel­la­tion of Kuwait Mu­nic­i­pal­ity’s de­ci­sion to re­move gen­er­a­tors . He af­firmed the com­mit­tee re­ferred a num­ber of rec­om­men­da­tions to the Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee at the Mu­nic­i­pal­ity to give its opin­ion on the pro­posed mo­bile shops, elec­tric points, bath­rooms, garbage con­tain­ers and ad­di­tional shops in in­vest­ment ar­eas.

He went on to say the com­mit­tee for­warded two sug­ges­tions to its engi­neer­ing coun­ter­part -- to study and de­velop high­ways and to spec­ify the man­age­ment for th­ese projects.

Other sug­ges­tions were re­lated to con­tracts be­tween clean­ing com­pa­nies and the Kuwait Mu­nic­i­pal­ity.
