Land request rejected:
News in Brief
The Technical Committee at the Municipality Council, headed by Council Member Abdul Aziz Al-Mejil, has rejected the application of private sector employees to allocate land measuring 2,500 square meters for their union. In a press statement, Al-Mejil explained the committee took the decision to adhere to the principle of good neighborliness.
He disclosed the committee also referred to the executive authority an urgent letter to Kuwait Ports Authority regarding the creation of new activities for storage areas at Shuwaikh Port.
He said the committee shelved several suggestions such as the development of islands in the South like Umm Al-Maradem, Kubar and Qaroh, implementation of West Hadiya project, provision of social services in ideal areas under the management of cooperative societies, and cancellation of Kuwait Municipality’s decision to remove generators . He affirmed the committee referred a number of recommendations to the Executive Committee at the Municipality to give its opinion on the proposed mobile shops, electric points, bathrooms, garbage containers and additional shops in investment areas.
He went on to say the committee forwarded two suggestions to its engineering counterpart -- to study and develop highways and to specify the management for these projects.
Other suggestions were related to contracts between cleaning companies and the Kuwait Municipality.
