Clear vision needed in the field of theatrical production, says Dawood

‘Info’ plays big role in renaissanc­e of drama

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: The popular Kuwaiti actor Dawood Hussein insisted the need for a clear vision in the field of theatrical production, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

He said the lack of shows during Eid Al-Adha holidays does not indicate setback of theater in Kuwait, but it implies that some producers should have a vision when it comes to production, especially since the summer holidays coincided with the travel season and Eid holidays.

Hussein highlighte­d that the shows performed during Eid AlAdha were repeated and were already seen by the audience.

Meanwhile, he expressed his pride for the honor he received during the 4th Comedy Nights Festival.

In the meantime, Kuwaiti actor Ibrahim Al-Harbi has affirmed that the Ministry of Informatio­n played a big role in the renaissanc­e and major achievemen­ts of Kuwait drama over the last five years, reports Annahar daily.

He pointed out that the unwavering support of the ministry for the drama sector is in line with the instructio­n of Informatio­n Minister and State Minister for Youths Affairs Mohammad Nasser Al-Jabri.

Meanwhile, the young writer Dr Hamad Al-Roumi has revealed that intense work sessions will be held soon with the artiste Dawood Hussein and director Muneer Al-Zuabi concerning the new television series titled “Moudi is a piece of gold”, reports Al-Rai daily.

The shooting of the series will start in the beginning of next year so that it can be broadcaste­d during drama season in the month of Ramadan.

The latest statistics on marriage and divorce issued by the Central Statistics Bureau revealed that 1,251 polygamy cases were registered in 2017, mostly Kuwaiti men and 764 have one to three wives, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to the report, a total of 1,156 men married their second wife within the same year - 689 Kuwaitis and 467 non-Kuwaitis.

Also, 80 men got married to their third wife — 62 Kuwaitis and 18 non-Kuwaitis while 15 married their fourth wife — 13 Kuwaitis and two non-Kuwaitis.
