Colonial system back again?

World nations threatened directly

-

“IN A peremptory and arrogant tone, President Donald Trump asked the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), to ‘Cut oil prices immediately, otherwise you will no longer enjoy safety with us’,” columnist and former director of Culture Department at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters wrote for daily.

“This tone, which Trump is accustomed to is no less than blackmail, reflects American arrogance, stubbornness and contempt for other nations and their sovereignty.

“The orders come ahead of congressional elections in November, as rising oil prices could affect tax cuts in America, fueled by high gasoline prices, which helped boost the US economy, according to the Republicans, had boosted the US economy as such the outcomes of the elections in question, will not be in favor of Trump due to the soaring oil prices which would reflect on the election results.

“However, the US sanctions against Iran have caused a shortage of oil supplies, and the American president would like to offset this shortage from the wealth of the OPEC member states.

“In this context, we say the commercial wars which are currently waged by the United States on many countries including Turkey and China, will actually have negative effect on America, because there are no wars without losses to be borne by the warring parties.

“Meanwhile, we say the order of the American President to OPEC member states, actually reflects a state of disturbance over the forecast of some economists which indicate that the economic crisis, shall once again hit the capitalistic system and this crisis shall repeat the economic collapses that had occurred as a result of the economic and financial of 2008, but this time around much stronger and deeper.

“In this context, we would like to point out that we have repeatedly said that this type of crisis has always been inherent to the nature of the capitalistic system and its general and periodic crisis.

“In other words, Trump’s system, is aimed at protecting and revitalizing the same (system) which can be termed as, is inequitable in distribution of wealth as it occurred in recent decades because it has enriched the wealth of the rich and increased poverty of the poor by 99 to 1 percent.

“But the globalization policy, had failed to rescue such a system as some of the thinkers and writers of this system had claimed because of the destructive behavior of this system against the environment and this was evident through a drop in the foodstuff resources and the dearth in potable water.

“As a matter of fact, the direct colonial system is no longer valid because most countries which were subjected to the imperialistic system had obtained their sovereignty and became members of the United Nations.

“But it looks like the mentality of Trump has yet to comprehend this fact, hence, and for this reason he has been dictating his terms to others without paying attention to the dignity of the people or to the sovereignty of their homelands.

“Not just that, he wants some states in the Middle East region to fight on behalf of America and has requested these states to get involved in the reconstruction process of the countries which were destroyed by the United States. However, Trump doesn’t conceal his objective or his greediness.”

“The United States of America enjoys influence in many European, Asian and African nations and its influence at the moment covers all international humanitarian and financial institutions,” columnist wrote for

daily. “Such being the case, if the United States exploits this influence by promoting and implementing its decisions in an irreversible manner, these declarations rarely come from people who do not have the right to self-determination or groups and some countries that oppose America’s foreign policy.

“With regard to the Palestinian cause, it is Trump who issued a decision to impede the return of the right to its owners including the decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist entity.

“In this connection, we would like to elucidate that on December 6, 2017, the US president Donald Trump, Jerusalem as the capital for the Zionist entity (Israel) and shifted the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem – a measure which received condemnation at Arab, international and Islamic levels.

“Apart from the above, Washington on January 16, 2018 issued a decision to curtail its assistance to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for the Palestinians refugees and froze $300 million. This action resulted in aggravating the financial crisis currently facing UNRWA. This decision resulted in the UNRWA curtailing its services in the Palestinian refugee camps.

“Not only that, just three months after the decision in question, the US administration on Aug 3, 2018, decided to suspend all US assistance to UNRWA. This decision was seen as US escalation against the Palestinians and an attempt to nullify the right for return and closing the Palestinian refugees cause, given the fact the number of the Palestinian refugees exceed four million.

“Apart from the above, the White House issued a resolution that includes the transfer of financial aid to the Palestinian Authority for the West Bank and Gaza to other regions of the world. This decision was aimed at weakening the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and the Palestinian people and is considered a genocide project for the Palestinian and Gazan people in particular since the Palestinians are suffering at the moment of a maritime and an overland besiege where this besiege had been imposed on everything including the foodstuff and medicines.

“However, it looks like that the Americans believe that by suspending the assistance to the Palestinians, it will oblige the Palestinians to succumb to its policies which are loyal to the Zionist entity as a result of hunger.

“Furthermore, the US State Department, on Sept 7, 2018 declared freezing of assistance that was estimated at $25 million that was supposed to be extended in the form of assistances to six Palestinian hospitals in East Jerusalem – the hospitals which are currently involved in extending medical services to the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”

“All Kuwaiti citizens are hoping for Kuwait University to be a perfect academic institution in terms of graduating batches of students of all specializations instead of leaving them to face the labor market which does not suit them,” wrote for daily.

“We believe Kuwait University is the most capable educational institution in Kuwait in terms of the efficiency of the staff, its special academic nature, and the available support. What I want to say is that the role of Kuwait University exceeds granting high educational certificates including master’s and PhD certificates. It also includes arranging training and cultural programs that are beneficial for the entire society.

“First of all, a graduate is not supposed to be left alone to face the labor market without specialized training courses conducted by the relevant bodies at the university. These training programs have to cover all specializations. It is not only the doctors who need training before enrolling in the labor market. All graduates need such training.

“Kuwait University neglects its cultural role in terms of holding public lectures during which specialized lecturers handle the most important issues in all fields. We hope Kuwait University will support the activities conducted by different state institutions as well as by civil society organizations. It has to take part in such events. Such activities are organized and sponsored by universities in other Arab countries including cultural competitions and providing awards.

“We used to see some activities organized by Kuwait University but they no longer exist. We used to attend lectures at the university that handle issues which are not included in the curricula, but such activities have been suspended for a long time now.”

“Honesty is an attribute of good quality and virtue. Individuals with this attribute find happiness, and are surrounded by a halo of satisfaction and conviction. They are blessed wherever they go,”

wrote for daily. “Honesty is not only about saving money for those who possess this attribute, but it extends to a wider circle that includes honesty of the word, honesty at work, and honesty in all aspects of life.

“There is a story that a poor man who lived in Makkah married a good woman. His wife said to him, ‘We have no food to eat.’ He went out in search for food. When he was exhausted, he went to the house of Allah and prayed. After finishing prayers and leaving the mosque, he felt very happy when he found a bag containing KD 1,000. When he gave it to his wife, she told him to go back and search for its owner; so he did and found the owner. The owner gave him the bag and other nine other bags containing KD 1,000 each. He said a man from the Levant gave him KD 10,000, and told him to put KD 1,000 in the mosque. If anyone returned the bag to him, he has to give that person the rest of money as a reward for his honesty.”

“We heard that China will invest in the Kuwaiti islands project, especially the most beautiful island – Failaka. China is a great and major industrial country. Today, the Chinese are the biggest manufacturers in all fields – whether in construction, clothing, electronics and cars,” columnist

wrote for daily. “When I visited China, I found major markets, particularly the luxury items and clothes. This is in addition to renaissance in housing projects after the period of residence in compounds consisting of small apartments without services.

“Today, the visitor to China is witnessing lofty residential and housing complexes, comparable with those in the capitals of Europe and USA, in addition to the amazing streets, bridges and high towers.

“China passed the time in the last 30 years, when the economy became liberal and the industry became the miracle of the 21st century, as well the extraordinary bridges and mega airports.”

“Have books in Kuwait become weapons of mass destruction? Is it reasonable that Kuwait is one of the Arab countries which ban most books? Is it not ignorant to forbid books in the era of internet and open digital world as if one is obscuring sun rays with a sieve?,” columnist wrote for

daily. “I am not one of those who judge arbitrarily, nor among those who rule by appearances without checking. I can claim that we are one of the countries in the world which ban most books.

“I was horrified to see thousands of books being banned through this cultural massacre in Kuwait – the country of culture, freedom and pearl of the Gulf. Surprisingly, most of the books being banned were previously on the shelves of bookshops. One wonders where we are heading”!

“Our good neighbor, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which opened its doors for us during our difficult times, deserves all kinds of the well-wishes and facilitations from us during its 88th National Day celebration,” wrote for

daily. “We believe that our good neighbor and we Kuwaitis share a common destiny. We are proud of many similarities between us. The relations between the two countries in all aspects are considered to be an ideal model in terms of brotherhood and sacrifice. The least we can do during this festive occasion of our brothers and sisters in Saudi Arabia, our second home, is to wish the best for it in its path to prosperity.

“Saudi Arabia has made big strides in various aspects in both regional and international arenas. Its role cannot be underestimated by anyone globally. It is one of the 20 greatest world economies, and has a strong presence in various regional and international arenas. There are many more attributes of Saudi Arabia that would be difficult for us to list in this short column. May Almighty Allah protect its leaders and its people. May He grant consistent peace, stability, security, prosperity and progress of the highest level.”
