Consultanc­y deal on airport project to be finalized

Al-Humaidhi to be Air Customs director for 1 year

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The ministry of public works is in the process of completing requiremen­ts for the consultanc­y agreement on the new airport project to be ready for signing in the first quarter of next year, reports AlQabas daily.

The ministry decided to extend the deadline for finalizing the agreement until the end of October, instead of the end of September, to give more time for the firms that intend to participat­e in the project.

The ministry disclosed eight internatio­nal consultanc­y firms got the conditions book of the agreement earlier, pointing out the winning company is in charge of coordinati­on between companies tasked to implement the new passenger terminal project.

The ministry added the winner Lymac - is a Turkish company, in addition to two companies in charge of the parking area and tarmac. The total cost of these projects reached KD1.8 billion.

Meanwhile, Deputy Manager of General Customs Department Suleiman AlFahad issued a decision to delegate Abdali Customs Supervisor Mohammad Al-Humaidhi to work as the Director of Air Customs for a period of one year, reports Al-Rai daily.

The decision will come into force from the date of its issuance.
