Kuwait, Iraq senior MPs in talks to up legislative ties
Kuwaiti relief team safe after mishap
KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26, (KUNA): National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim held official talks on Wednesday with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammad Al-Halbusi and his accompanying delegation.
At the start of talks, Al-Ghanim congratulated Al-Halbousi on winning the confidence of the Iraqi representatives and expressed his appreciation for making his first foreign mission to Kuwait.
During the meeting, the two reviewed bilateral relations and means of developing cooperation between the two countries in all fields, especially in the legislative field.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of topics and issues of common concern, as well as developments in the regional and international arenas.
The meeting was attended by the head of the honorary mission Member of Parliament (MP) Ali Al-Deqbasi, MP Nayif Al-Merdas, MPs Hamad Al-Harshani,
Al-Ghanim
MP Abdullah Al-Enzi, MP Askar AlEnezi, MP Majid Al-Mutairi, Saud AlShuaieer, and National Assembly Secretary General Allam Al-Kanderi.
Last night, the Iraqi lawmakers arrived in the country for an official twoday visit.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Bangladesh on Wednesday assured safety of Tarahum Voluntary team following an emergency landing of an US-Bangla Airliner at Shah Amanat International
airport in the southern city of Chittagong due to a technical tire fault.
An embassy statement said that the plane, which took off from the capital Dhaka, was en route to the city of Cox’s Bazar carrying a Kuwaiti team heading to the Cox’s Bazar camps to distribute relief aid on Rohingya refugees.
The statement added that it has contacted the team members who assured their safety.
