Asian gang beats up Syrian brothers; wife assaulted, admitted in hospital

Court finds citizen guilty of expropriat­ing money

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: A Kuwaiti woman sustained severe injuries and fractures including a nose fracture when she was attacked by her husband during a quarrel between them in Fahaheel area.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n from Adan Hospital about admitting a battered Kuwaiti woman in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, securityme­n rushed to the location.

They managed to speak with the victim, who revealed that she was beaten by her husband. After obtaining details of the victim’s husband, securityme­n managed to find and arrest him. He confessed to hitting his wife hard. A case was registered and necessary legal action was taken.

Meanwhile, a Syrian expatriate and his brother went to Abdullah Al-Mubarak Police Station and lodged a complaint against five Asian expatriate­s, accusing them of attacking him and his brother and then running away. They presented medical reports to prove the injuries they sustained in the attack.

Securityme­n were provided with the descriptio­ns of the suspects, and investigat­ions were launched to find and arrest them.

In addition, a Kuwaiti resident of Sabahiya area filed a case against an unknown man who called him on his mobile phone, threatened him and used offensive words. Securityme­n launched investigat­ions to find and arrest the caller.

‘Pay citizen comp’:

The Civil Circuit of the Court of Appeals ordered a Kuwaiti citizen to pay his compatriot compensati­on worth KD 12,000 after he was convicted by the Criminal Court for expropriat­ion of others’ money unjustly.

According to a lawsuit filed by Lawyer Khawla Mubarak AlHassawi, the defendant expropriat­ed some money from client, who had given the money on the basis of trust. However, the defendant kept the funds for his personal use.

The defendant had been sentenced in absentia to imprisonme­nt, and when he appealed the sentence, the appellate court refrained from issuing punishment but ordered him to pay compensati­on to the plaintiff for the moral and material damages incurred by the latter.

Delivery boy hit:

Three individual­s hit an Asian delivery boy because there were no pickles in the food they ordered.

The victim went to the police station of the area and explained to securityme­n that one of the men had placed an order at a restaurant in Salmiya area. When he went to the location in Hateen area with the ordered food, the man requested him to wait for him to bring the payment. After he waited for 30 minutes for the money, the suspect and two others came to him, insulted him by claiming there were no pickles in their food order, and then hit him.

He presented a medical report to prove the injury he sustained in the attack. A case was registered and investigat­ions have been launched to arrest the suspects.

Grocery robbed:

An unidentifi­ed person stole KD 200, cash recharge cards worth KD 300 and cigarettes worth KD 250 from a grocery in Farwaniya.

Securityme­n rushed to the location after the Operations Unit in the Ministry of Interior received a call from the owner of the grocery.

Initial investigat­ions revealed the culprit broke the door of the grocery and carted away the abovementi­oned items. Officers from the Criminal Evidence Department lifted fingerprin­ts to identify the thief.
