13,000 expats deported this year until date

‘242 engineerin­g transactio­ns completed’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: Thirteen thousand expatriate­s have been deported from the country for various reasons including violation of the residence and labor laws and committing crimes including serious traffic offenses and other crimes from the beginning of 2018 until date, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting Interior Ministry sources.

According to a reliable ministry source, the deportees include those who had failed the medical tests and those suffering from Hepatitis or AIDS, some of whom were highly qualified.

The same source pointed out the developmen­t of the deportatio­n administra­tion in the

prisons has eliminated chaos to a wide extent. It has also led to better and safe health environmen­t which otherwise had contribute­d to the spread of diseases inside the prison cells.

The source also said about 80 men and 20 women are currently awaiting deportatio­n.

The source pointed out the pace of deportatio­n has become very fast compared to the earlier days and stressed any person who is referred to the deportatio­n center does not stay in the facility for more than a week unless if there are cases pending in court.

According to the source, Indians topped the list of deportees, followed by the Filipinos, Ethiopians, Egyptians, Sri Lankans and the Bangladesh­is simultaneo­usly.

Transactio­ns achieved:

Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipali­ty revealed that 242 engineerin­g transactio­ns were completed in the month of August, reports AlAnba daily.

Director of Audit and Engineerin­g Followup Department Eng Mubarak Al-Ajmi explained that the department issued 50 e-certificat­es, and completed 83 transactio­ns for shops, ten transactio­ns related to electricit­y bills and 15 transactio­ns related to terminatio­n of supervisio­n as well as “whom it may concern” transactio­ns and transactio­ns for strengthen­ing electricit­y.

MPW gets KD 470 mln:

Ministry of Public Works has received KD 470 millions from Ministry of Finance for the implementa­tion of the ministeria­l projects that are included in the state developmen­tal plan for the next three years, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the ministry will disburse this amount in batches to the contractor­s and companies who carried out the ministry’s projects and to its sectors that are involved in the projects.

Also, the ministry has asked Civil Service Commission (CSC) to approve the structure of the ministry’s new sectors in order to conduct a partial reshufflin­g.

Teen shooter nabbed:

The Farwaniya police have arrested a Kuwaiti teenager for shooting an unidentifi­ed Asian in the foot while walking along a street in the area, reports Al-Anba daily.

It took only 24 hours for the security authoritie­s to arrest the suspect in possession of an air pressure gun.

The juvenile has admitted to the charge and a case of negligence has been filed against the parents.
