Comprehensive govt plan to support young Kuwaitis

-

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: The governmental plan to support youth of Kuwait will be comprehensive and will cover youth of all age groups, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that this plan includes prioritizing the granting of tenders to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) entrepreneurs, offering them necessary land, and supporting Kuwaitis who prefer to work in the private sector, and young entrepreneurs of local projects.

With the new amendments, the SME entrepreneurs will be added as a new category entitled to the priority and allocation of at least five percent of the contracting works.

The sources announced that Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will soon explain details related to the support offered to the youths, adding that it will release the spaces and locations allocated for these youth after reaching an agreement with Public Authority for Industry (PAI) and Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW).

They indicated about a serious intention to make amendments to the private sector’s labor law in order to ensure functional stability for the Kuwaiti youth desiring to work in the private sector with the same financial privileges offered to employees of the public sector.

Meanwhile, parliamentary sources stressed the need to urge ministers to implemented the issued laws, especially since some of these laws will expire after two months of non-application such as the law for offering citizenship to 4,000 individuals which was passed in 2018.
