Gems grace Writers’ Forum meeting
TIES Center events: TIES Center announces following events – Tajweed and Recitation: Learn and practice the art of reciting the Holy Quran (tajweed). The instructor will also answer questions related to the meaning of the Arabic words and verses.

A group photo from the event On the evening of Sept 21, at the resi- dence of Ms Madhulika Mohta, the monthly meeting of the Writers’ Forum, Kuwait was presided over by noted Oddiya poet—Tushar Mishra.
Dr Abhay Patwari Chougle the President of Indian Doctors Forum and Ms Parul Chaturvedi; the author of two Hindi poetry books were the Chief Guests.
Rishabh Jain, President of Arihant Social Group and renowned Hindi poet Dr Kamlesh ‘Vasant’ who is on visit to Kuwait also graced the occasion.
The Joint Secretary of the Forum, Sunil Sonsi welcomed all the members and guests with a brief introduction of forum and its activities
At the outset, the President of the Forum, Ms Maimuna Chougle informed and discussed with members the plan of celebrating 150th birthday Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi ji.
The further proceedings of the meeting comprised of two sessions: Article/ Story Session and the Poetry Session.
In the first session, Ms Chhaya Athavale read her article in Marathi. This was based on her feeling on proper upbringing of children so as to make them successful human beings. This was followed by members’ views on the direction of writer’s thoughts.
During the second session, members recited their poems/compositions in varied Indian languages. Dr Radhika Bhardwaj, Umesh Sharma, Aamir Diwan, Ms Madhulika Mohta & the guest poet Dr Kamlesh Vasant in Hindi, Ms Preeti Rajgolikat in Sanskrit, Ms Chhaya Athavale in Marathi and Saeed Nazar Kadpavi read his poetry in Urdu.
In conclusion, the Chief Guest Dr Abhay Patwari appreciated and praised the work done by the Forum which involves bringing together writers and poets from different Indian languages on one single platform.
St Paul’s Church weekly activities: English worship services on Fridays at 10.30 am and on Sundays at 6.30 pm. The Friday English service has separate sessions for children and youth. A Mandarin language speaking congregations meets separately on Fridays at 10.30 am in the Youth Centre at St Paul’s. A combined service with the English and Mandarin language congregations is held on the first Friday of every month. A family service is held on the second Friday of every month with presentations from different organs of the church.
The Church of Pakistan has services in English every Thursday at St Paul’s at 5.35 pm and for Urdu language speaking members every Friday at Diwaniya of the NECK Centre, Kuwait City at 5.45 pm.
