Juvenile acquitted:

-

The Juvenile Court has acquitted a juvenile who was accused of stealing a Kuwaiti citizen’s buggy and intentionally setting it on fire.

The Public Prosecution had charged the youth with renting the buggy and disappearing with it and later damaging it by setting it on fire.

However, the defense counsel representing the youth Lawyer Nasser Al-Basher said the charges set forth by the Public Prosecution lacked substantial evidences, and that the outcome of the investigation conducted by detectives was just an opinion and was not enough to indict his client due to lack of substantial evidence or proof which backs the accusation.

KD 50 mln embezzled:

Attorney Hani Hussain has submitted documents to General Public Prosecutor Dhari Al-Asousi showing that the wife of a minister embezzled KD50 million.

Husein disclosed the documents contain information proving that the minister’s wife committed the crime. He affirmed the Public Prosecution will look into his complaint and investigation is underway.

On the other hand, Attorney Noor Al-Abdul Razzak, lawyer for the accused said in her blog that the information presented against the defendant is nothing but an attempt to tarnish the latter’s reputation, especially since the court convicted those involved in the real estate cheating case. She considers this chance for her to prove that the complaint is malicious, indicating she will file a complaint against anyone who will hurl baseless accusations at her client.
