KIB organises annual blood ‘donation’ drive for its staff
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: As part of its community health initiatives, KIB organised its annual blood donation campaign for its staff, hosting the Kuwait Central Blood Bank’s mobile unit for a blood drive at its head office. The initiative came as part of the Bank’s ongoing strategy which aims at serving the local community, as well as its belief in the importance of encouraging its employees to adopt a healthier lifestyle through their participation in the blood drive.
This year’s blood donation campaign saw the participation of over 70 donors from KIB. Accordingly, the blood donation campaign has become an annual tradition of KIB’s social responsibility program, as the Bank believes this to be its humanitarian duty towards the community. Accordingly, the Bank engages with various local social and humanitarian organizations to strengthen and promote a sense of collective responsibility between its employees and their community.
On this occasion, KIB commented saying: “This initiative comes as part of our strong belief in coming together to help people in need across the local community. By encouraging our employees to donate blood, we aim at shedding light on the importance of this support for health services, which offers many health benefits to the donor as well. We hope that by encouraging our employees to donate blood, we can also inspire others to contribute to this cause that can truly make a difference towards filling gaps in the supply of certain blood types, which in turn can help save the lives of many in need.”
By cooperating with the Central Blood Bank, KIB managed to attract an impressive turnout of volunteers from amongst KIB staff during the one-day event. A number of volunteers arrived at the head office ready to demonstrate their strong commitment to their humanitarian duty towards all those in dire need of blood.
