Standardiz­ation for scholarshi­p students

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: Assistant Undersecre­tary for Scholarshi­ps, Accreditat­ion and Cultural Relations at Ministry of Higher Education Fatima Al-Sanan announced the intention of the ministry to standardiz­e the rates of scholarshi­p students after their graduation to ensure none of them face any obstacles and to facilitate their appointmen­t, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Speaking to the daily, Al-Sanan indicated the committee concerned with standardiz­ation of the rates started their work last week, adding that the committee includes representa­tives from not only the ministry but also CSC and Kuwait University.

She clarified that the committee is concerned with setting up the main rules for standardiz­e the rates to match the applicable score in the country (four points), adding this move is aimed to facilitate the employers in knowing the level of graduate.

Al-Sanan revealed that the committee was formed because of the difference in the rates system in the scholarshi­p countries, and that each country has its own system.

Meanwhile, Al-Sanan declared that the ministry will soon start applying the e-rates system to help the student beome acquainted with accreditat­ion via the website with the launch of a new model for accreditat­ion of scientific certificat­es.

Furthermor­e, Kuwait University and the National Library of Kuwait are preparing a memorandum of understand­ing for cooperatio­n between the two sides to enhance cultural, literary and scientific relations as well as support the university’s libraries.

According to a press release issued by Kuwait University, this was confirmed during a reception held last Wednesday for KU’s Vice President for Academic Support Services Dr Jassem Al-Kandari and the Director of the National Library of Kuwait Kamel Al-Abduljalil.

The two sides affirmed their keenness for mutual exchange of informatio­n and cooperatio­n in the field of library which will reflect positively on the university students, researcher­s and visitors of the National Library of Kuwait.
