Arabnet Kuwait to launch latest report

Under patronage of MoCI minister

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: Held under the patronage and with the participat­ion of HE Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al Roudan, Minister of Commerce and Industry - Kuwait, the highly-anticipate­d Arabnet Kuwait 2018 conference is expected to bring together 1000+ of the region’s government leaders, digital practition­ers and entreprene­urs. HE Al Roudan will launch the event on Oct 8 with an opening speech.

Taking place at Courtyard by Marriott, the conference will draw in more than 90 speakers and 40 exhibitors, as well as high-level sponsors including Boubyan Bank, Digital Media Services, Kuwait Finance House, KUWAITNET, Al Khaleejiah, KISP Ventures, VIVA Kuwait, Floward, JustClean, DotSpace, Wave Maker, SME Law and Careem.

In its third edition, the conference will launch the Kuwait Innovation Economy Tech Startups 2018 report on Oct 8 and will address the main challenges facing tech startups in the ecosystem. The report’s data reveals that 43% of Kuwaiti startups did not receive any amount of funding, indicating an early stage ecosystem. Furthermor­e, 71% of startups say it is very difficult to find the talent they need to grow their business. This makes talent-related issues the largest impediment facing tech startups in Kuwait.

Arabnet will also host global speakers and experts for the first time in Kuwait. A high-level group of global venture capital businesses including HOF Capital, Mustard Seed, 11.2 will gather during the Innovation and Investment forum. Moreover, the conference will bring together Kuwaiti banking leaders from Boubyan Bank, KFH, Warba, NBK Capital, among others, as well as fintech leaders from Supernovae­Labs, Ripple and GetJenny who will take part in the Money track, sponsored by Kuwait Finance House. Furthermor­e, the stage will welcome global media players from Snap Inc and Twitter, to shed light on the technologi­es reshaping marketing and the consumer journey.

For the first time this year, Arabnet Kuwait will host Founders’ Day, sponsored by Boubyan Bank. It will take place on Oct 7 and will engage the participan­ts with two tracks of hands-on workshops covering entreprene­urship and cutting-edge technology.
