CSC offers jobs to 14,800 citizens this year

KNPC to hold meet with firms qualified for solar power project

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: Civil Service Commission (CSC) has offered employment to 14,800 male and female Kuwaiti citizens from the start of this year until date, including about 5,000 male and female teachers, reports Aljarida daily quoting informed sources.

They affirmed that CSC seeks to offer employment to more than 20,000 citizens this year in line with its plan to offer jobs to those desiring to work from 2014 to 2030, as per which it was expected to offer employment to 15,880 male and female citizens until 2018, especially after CSC nominated a new batch of 3,258 citizens.

According to official statistics in this regard, the number of male employees in the government­al system has decreased by 100 in the last ten months while the number of female employees have doubled by 4750 during the same period.

The number of Emirati employees in the government­al system of Kuwait is the least, with just 16 citizens (15 of who are women) out of the 4,450 GCC nationals working in various government­al agencies.

Meanwhile, CSC has deter-

mined 9,379 vacant positions of different fields in government­al bodies based on the needs of those bodies including 22 jobs for PhD holders, 94 for masters’ degree holders, 3,918 for university certificat­e holders and 2,899 for diploma holders.

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) will soon hold the first preliminar­y meeting with companies qualified for the Al-Dibdibah Solar Power Plant project, reports Al-Rai daily quoting

sources.

Sources disclosed a budget of KD520 million has been allocated for the power plant that is expected to produce 1.5 gigawatts, indicating that around four to six companies out of 28 companies and qualified consortium bought the conditions book.

Sources pointed out the meeting is a good chance to establish contact with the qualified companies and clarify changes according to the requiremen­ts of the concerned ministries.
