Kuwait aspires to broaden ‘operations’ in Asian Bank
New organizational changes in KOC
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11, (KUNA): Kuwait as a founding member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) aspires to contribute to broadening its operations in the development sector, says the visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Finance.
Dr Nayef Falah AlHajraf made the assertion during a meeting with the AIIB chairmanship delegation, as part of his chain of activities during and on margins of annual meetings by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), held on the Indonesian island of Bali.
“We aspire to contribute to overhauling and expanding the bank in development spheres,” the minister said during the meeting – quoted in a statement released by the media center of the delegation accompanying the minister in his mission in the Asian nation.
Kuwait is willing to help with expertise of the Public Investment Authority (PIA) and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), he has indicated.
Kuwait is a founding member of the Beijing-headquartered AIIB, the third largest investment bank in the world.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Jamal Jafar has issued a circular concerning some organizational changes such as the promotion of nine team leaders, reshuffling of four others and re-nomination of teams, reports Al-Rai daily.
In the Exploration and Gas Department, Mohammad AlRasheedi has been assigned as the Head of Operations and Maintenance in the Early Production Unit Team. Ghanim Al-Jareed has been promoted as the Head of Gas Maintenance in north and west regions of Kuwait. The Head of Gas Support Operations will be appointed later.
Falah Shalwan has been promoted as the Head of Maintenance Support Team in west region of Kuwait, and Mohammad Al-Salal has been promoted as the Head of Technical Service of Heavy Oil Operations.
Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) said on Thursday that it has hosted 68 training courses in science, administration and Management Information System (MIS).
Director of KISR’s Manpower Development Department Mona Al-Failakawi said in a statement that the training courses aim to keep abreast of the latest developments on training and career system to improve the institute’s resources and activities.
She added that KISR keens on acquiring their staff with the necessary scientific expertise and develop their abilities with the institute strategic plan.
Al-Failkawi stressed that the institute seeks to develop cadres’ performance and achieve their ambitions through scholarship programs, which been practicing since 1975.
She mentioned that 49 students are receiving the scholarship, 32 PhDs, 16 master degrees and one bachelor degree distributed across several countries including 17 students in the United States and 24 students in the United Kingdom.
