Kuwait’s finmin meets with counterparts at Bali meetings
Kuwait’s Finance Minister Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf met separately with his counterparts in the region at the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) in Bali, Indonesia.
Al-Hajraf discussed with Qatari Finance Minister Ali Shareef Al-Emadi latest economic and financial developments in the region, and ways to boost bilateral ties, the Kuwaiti minister’s accompanying press team said in a statement Friday.
He also reviewed with Pakistani Finance Minister Asad Umar ways to bolster Kuwaiti-Pakistani ties, and spoke about investment opportunities available in both countries.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti minister and his accompanying delegation took part in the 72nd general session of the 2018 IMF-WBG meetings, inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Widodo urged, in his opening speech, membercountries to cooperate jointly in order to face the ongoing worldwide economic disorder and counter fears threatening it through reforming global financial situations, and forming sound financial and monetary policies.
Al-Hajraf held talks with his Omani counterpart Darwish Al-Balouhsi amid the annual International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank meetings in the Indonesian island of Bali on Saturday.
The ministers’ talks revolved around the latest economic happenings in the region, Al-Hajraf said in a statement.
Global finance leaders have converged on the Indonesian resort island for the talks, where representatives of some 189 countries are expected to attend. (KUNA)
