Masks have now been removed ... it is a conspiracy

Opinion

- By Ahmed Al-Jarallah Editor-in-Chief, the Arab Times

IT WAS clear from the start that the unjust campaign on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was premeditated. Even if the issue is not related to Jamal Khashoggi, any justification would have been created to carry out this campaign which hides a lot of conspiracies in its many layers.

In the principle of law, the case concerning Khashoggi is solely related to Turkish national security. Khashoggi disappeared on Turkish soil and we all know how things operate in Turkey. The coup drama last summer is only one of such instances during which thousands of women and men were incarcerated; as well as the arrest of journalists and closure of many information media outlets, let alone the disappearance of several individuals. Certainly, this is in addition to the drama of the American priest, Erdogan’s resounding speeches in this regard and how it all ended.

In such painful events, we did not see the world exerting pressure on Turkey. We did not see frustrations caused by international human rights organizations, and the ones running these organizations and funding them are well known.

In fact, those issues were overlooked. Today, through their dirty game; the international conspiracy ring, Washington, Paris and London took a unified stance which sends the signal of threatening the stability of the Gulf by shaking the Saudi stability.

Nonetheless, Saudi’s position in its foreign affairs ministry’s statement was a sufficient response. Any measure taken against it will have a greater response, not only from the Kingdom but also from other Arab and Islamic countries. This was anticipated after the matter reached a timely response without responding to unknown sources.

From the start, Saudi’s position was clear and transparent. Khashoggi is a Saudi citizen and his fate concerns the Kingdom before anyone else or any party. The rush to hurl accusations officially and the malicious leaks to Turkish and ‘Brotherhood’ media outlets were aimed at preparing global public opinion to turn against the Kingdom.

The essence of this conspiracy is to overthrow the remaining stable Arab country, which is able to reconstruct what has been destroyed by the tool of indirect war waged by America, France and Britain through the ‘Brotherhood’ and its tool – Turkey and those of its kind, in an indirect agreement with the Mullah regime in Tehran.

If this was not a conspiracy, how could a group of members of the American congress surprisingly bring out the ‘Magnitsky Act’ from the forgotten drawers and the British Government rushed to intimidate with a similar law? In fact, it announced that it has started preparing the list of those who will be punished. This is followed by lies and defamation campaign against the Kingdom.

Everyone knows that the abovementioned act was tailored by the United States of America in order to interfere in the Russian internal affairs. This scene is not much different from the ‘cowboy’ movies which are based on the philosophy of blackmail.

Perhaps, it is worth remembering that a country which boosts impunity

for crimes against humanity, such as the US, cannot exercise moral guidance on the world – it is like throwing stones at people while its house is made of glass.

The question is: If Washington considers Riyadh its important ally in the region, why is Donald Trump cramming in the electoral blackmail campaign? Is it not more effective to demand billions from Israel as the price for protecting it from being punished for the crimes it commits daily against Palestinians? Does he think this will remain without being reckoned with?

Today, before those against the Kingdom’s policies among the Arabs and before their supporters could say that that the international conspiracy is preying on them one by one, they should take a historic stance against this unjust campaign because it is targeting them before the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia is able to face any crisis firmly and strongly. Previous events proved that it exits from any crisis stronger than it was before the crisis.

However, with a collective Arab stance, it could fortify these countries which should not forget the saying: “Going down a slippery slope.” The difference is that the Kingdom is not near any slope, while the antagonists are already going down the slope.
